What is this, and where do you buy one? Like a go-kart on wolverine testosterone. Pretty wild, the things that some people build. This seems like it would be a blast to drive.

I have to say every time i use it i think its incredible.. See before and after pics..took like 12 seconds to do.  Interestingly enough the enhancement was great.. but it added a totally different background image.. I will need to go back and ask it to redo but keep all background images identical.. just enhance them..

My wife and I did a 70 mile trip to Great Barrington, MA for lunch and to stop in to our favorite art/ antique gallery. It was a good warm weather test run to make sure the car is running well for a 100 mile trip to a show next weekend. It did just fine and I had to get a couple photos of it with a few of the statues that they have there. The only thing transportation related that I saw was this taxi from the island of Java which I really want but it’s not for sale. My wife tells me that we need this dragon statue to go along with the koi pond that she wants me to build. She sure is good at coming up with ideas that create more work for me.

In addition to the great cars being shown at Pebble Beach this year (including some by our friends here on RumbleFeed), there are some fantastic lots that will be available for admiring, lusting, and if so inclinced....purchase.  A small sample is here.  Sam and Emily Mann's collection is a part of RM Sotheby's auction.

Modifying the axle tubes for safety hubs. The end of the tube has to be cut off flush with the backing plate. Instructions say to use a hacksaw but that ends up looking pretty bush league so I made an adapter and set the tubes up in the lathe.
I used a parting tool to cut through the axle tube until I hit the bearing sleeve inside. The chatter was pretty bad, no matter how I fed it. On the last cut, the tube grabbed the insert and snapped my parting tool holder. The axle tubes don't run very true after 100 years.
Just need to deburr and clean out the tubes now.

I enjoy seeing all of the creative ways  that cars were repurposed back in the day to get the job done on a low budget. Converting big cars to wreckers or service trucks was the obvious choice but cars cut down to make stationary engines are also interesting. I came across this one on eBay. The build quality is impressive. A complete instrument cluster, spark and throttle levers, and clutch throw out lever all on one side of the machine. Even has the original honeycomb radiator. By the serial number, it was a 1920 Hupmobile model R, which would have been ideal for an application like this. With a long 5-1/2” stroke, it would be perfect for constant low rpm use.

Had some stains on the radiator  from a prior leak and tried a bunch of cleaners including WD-40.  Nothing touched it.  Finally tried dabbing white vinegar with a small paint brush!  BINGO!  See pics of before and after.

Not something that you see too often in the U.S. Looks like someone from Sonora, Mexico, was visiting the Phoenix area. There has been a long-standing 100% tariff on Chinese-made BYD vehicles in the US. I should have grabbed more photos, but I was actually pretty impressed with the overall design. Plug-in hybrid with a 500-mile range.

Ouch. Ford is recalling more than half a million Broncos because a wiring harness in the engine compartment can short circuit and increase the risk of fire.
