National Park Tour 1920

The Playground Trail is a book about a tour to promote the western National Parks in 1920. One of the vehicles on the tour was a Locomobile Sportif. I was really excited when I found this book in the gift shop at Crater Lake National Park.

Excellent! Is that a spitoon on the side of the Locomobile or a water jug?

Amazing what turns up in book shops. At the Stutz Club dinner in Hershey at few years ago one of the members brought a 1930 Stutz Custom body photo album that nobody had ever seen before. It came out of a antique shop in Ohio somewhere. Crazy photos many of which were new to the club.

This was a great find! When we are on vacation, while my wife and daughters are out shopping, I frequently am found in a hole in the wall used bookstores in whatever town we’re in. I have found some unbelievable treasures as well. Thanks for sharing this!

I have found tending to the library is a lot less work than tending to the car collection.
