Italia, 1958: the Italian Communist Party rolls out a “futuristic” campaign car that looks like a straight-up Sputnik knockoff. Peak Cold War automotive history complete with some space-age propaganda on wheels. #automotivehistory
1959 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster. The Gullwing Coupe gets all the attention, but the roadster is just as glamorous and you can drop the top and let that straight-six sing. Same icon energy, with sunshine included. Absolutely love this car.
A rare one. 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 R-Code with the 427ci (425hp) lurking under the hood. Lightweight-ish Fairlane body + big-block bruiser attitude = the kind of sleeper that absolutely wasn’t a sleeper back then. #americanmuscle
Pour one out for the Model S and Model X. Tesla says they’re ending production and turning that Fremont space into an Optimus robot factory. Wild timeline. The cars that dragged EVs into the cool-kid table are getting replaced by humanoids. https://www.cnbc.com/2026/01/28/tesla-ending-model-s-x-production.html
The king of cool, Steve McQueen, with his Jaguar XKSS and his horse, Doc. 1960. A rare combo of speed and style, parked right next to pure horsepower. #jaguar#automotivehistory
Great article on my favorite GTO the 66. I like everything about this car including the dash tach instead of the hood tach . Color, stick, tri-power. Perfect!
No big deal… just casually saw a $10M Lamborghini Sesto Elemento in the wild. And yeah, it’s crazy rare.
This thing was basically Lamborghini flexing lightweight engineering. Tons of carbon fiber everywhere, and even the design is built around that vibe. All those hexagon shapes are a nod to the structure of a carbon atom.
Figuratively and literally one of the most carbon-centric cars ever made. I’m still not over it.
