Detroit Gear & Machine Co. Transmissions - Looking for info
I’m wondering if there is any information out there regarding the 3-speed DG&M Co. transmissions used in many 1927-1930 Peerless models. I haven’t been able to find much of anything out there. From what I can tell based on a parts interchange book, this transmission was primarily used by Peerless, Auburn, and Hupp during that timeframe on both 6 and 8 cylinder cars. The Peerless models that I see listed with that same transmission are the 60,80,90 and possibly later 61, 91, and 8-125 with different main shaft combinations. Even an exploded parts diagram would be more information than I’ve been able to find thus far.
1993 Jaguar XJ220
One of my favorite supercars!! One of the coolest facts about the XJ220 is that it was originally designed with a V12 and four wheel drive, but the production car ended up with a 3.5 liter twin turbocharged V6 and rear wheel drive.
Despite the downgrade, the V6 made the XJ220 even lighter and extremely fast. Jaguar officially claimed 212 mph, making it the fastest production car in the world at the time. Fun fact: The XJ220 name refers to the original design goal of a 220 mph top speed. It never quite reached that number in production form, but it came remarkably close.
1963 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster
Rolling art. The Gullwing gets all the attention, but the Roadster is so beautiful. And the Fire Engine Red paint is perfect.

Does anyone happen to have an extra front left spring dampener cushion for the 31-32 Reo Royale that they would like to sell?
Tesla Kills the Roof Shingle Product
A little off topic but related if you are trying to charge your car for next to nothing. Minus the installation costs of course. I had followed this product for a few years as we need a new roof and I hate the look of solar panels. The estimate for a regular roof job was about 35k 5 years ago and when I got the Tesla roof estimate it was 100k and unknown wait time for installation. Do any of you guys have panels and do you care what they look like?

Tires make a difference
I am huge fan of Blackwall tires. I feel they give the car a more masculine appearance. If you have Chrome wheels, black tires are a must! Compare the two photos.
Houston, We have a REO Royale transmission problem!
I didn't mention it before but when we were pulling out of the parking lot for the Pebble Beach tour all of a sudden the transmission started making horrible noises. It would sort of come and go. Although never completely go away. I was very happy we made it back. Car came back Wednesday. By Thursday afternoon we had the transmission out of the car.
Detroit Historical Society's backroom collection
Youtube video description: Tom Cotter gets an exclusive and in-depth tour of the Detroit Historical Society's backroom collection, showcasing priceless Detroit icons. These rare cars are meticulously preserved in climate-controlled bubbles known as car capsules to suspend and slow the aging process so future generations have the opportunity to enjoy them.
Great video!
