RumbleFeed — the car community feed

I know, it's not everyone's cup of tea.
New customer pay job hauled in today. A 1978 Datsun 620 pickup.
It's all there (I think), guy even bagged and labeled hardware for me.
Some people might not think it's a classic but it's 48 years old and the interior looks incredible.
Lady's husband passed away before he could put it back together. She wants it finished so one of her boys can drive it when he's old enough. She also owns the Mercury Comet that's in the shop right now.

The difference wheel color makes to the look of a car.   All you guys that know me know I'm a blackwall guy.  My dad put whitewalls on the family daily driver Eldorado's and I felt I was in a Starsky and Hutch episode.

My rule is the less number of colors the better the car looks.   Not everybody agrees which is ok.   The photo with the whitewalls and red wheels is the actual car which is for sale.

This is why unrestored cars are the best. No pavement? No problem.

Mecum Auctions set a new record for 3rd generation Toyota 4Runner with a $52,800 final sale at Dana Mecum's 39th Original Spring Classic in Indianapolis.

Most of my friends are car people so we all speak the same language but just in case you didn't know. This is how the rest of the world sees us:

A local Model T restorer has been helping to keep me busy with these odd wood jobs lately. This car was rewooded at some time in the past and whoever did it replaced the front wood floor board risers with metal ones. The current owner wants wood risers, so I'm Making a set. He wants the car returned to what it was when Grandpa bought it new. Sentimentality, it's whats for lunch, it's what keeps me fed anyway.

New brakes getting installed on the 1929 Bentley Speed Six.   Greg Porter is working hard on some long needed maintenance items on it.. Bearings, King Pins, Linings, etc... all needed work.. Ordered parts from England and brake shoes were re-lined by Chris at Industrial Brake and Clutch.  See pics of rear brakes going back together!!!
