Today I was installing a new master cylinder in a 1949 Chrysler Town & Country. After that I started a warranty tire replacement on a 1931 Model A Roadster.

Here are some interesting cars spotted today at the Mecum auction. If you have never been, it is much different than the botique auctions put on by RM, Gooding, and Broad Arrow. Much more like BJ. One good thing is the wide variety of cars. There is literally every kind of car you can think of.
Spotted this V12 beauty today. 730 HP. This was named Supercar of the Year in 2012 by Top Gear. Gorgeous car and amazing exhaust note.

427 cubic inches. Big-block fury. M22 “Rock Crusher” four-speed. No air conditioning. No radio. And a warning that you’d better feed it racing fuel.
Only 116 were ordered in 1969.

Spotted this modded Audi R8 in the wild yesterday. Horrible color. I've always really liked these. Naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10, Quattro AWD and Lamborghini Huracan DNA. Seemingly excellent value. A mid-engine V10 exotic for roughly the price of a well-equipped new luxury SUV.
And unlike a lot of exotics, the R8 was designed to be genuinely usable/daily driver.

The usual 80 mile tour was cut down to 22 miles because of fires in Big Sur. You get to the truck lot around 6:00 AM and stage your car in a long line. Cars are staged out on Portola road and in columns inside the truck lot. First cars leave around 9:30. Of course it had to start raining. Cars all got wet but also a bit muddy. Saturday will be clean up day before the show.
