Has anyone researched solid state batteries and how close to production they might be.  This article says 745 miles of range is possible.  Probably hyperbole but might be a good discussion topic.

We need a topic to discuss Classic era Buicks. What brought this to my attention was this particular car that is now listed in the Marketplace. A 1935 Series 90 Limo. Buick built 191 of these body on the big chassis in 1935. Google can't seem to find me another stock one. There are a couple of resto mods.

CCCA defines the following Buicks as "Classics" and are accepted by the club.

Buick – 1930 Series 60; 1931-1942 Series 90;

1931-1933 and 1936-1939 Series 80;

1940 Series 80 Limited;

1940-41 Buick Roadmaster 70 Series

Stearns and Stearns-Knight manufactured their own chassis and drivelines.  They had a foundry and did their own casting.  As such I can imagine that they kept a metal inventory for that purpose.  In 1928-29 the production of H & J cars was not speedy nor in high volume.  They were motoring along on borrowed time and without excess cash flow.  As you can imagine this frustrated the relationship they had with their suppliers.  

So in light of that we can speculate as to why they would cast a side mount iron out of brass!  They must have had an abundance of brass on hand at the moment and not enough ingots of steel.  All the other side mounts I've seen are steel or iron castings.  

Its an interesting conversation piece.

I’ve had my 2020 Model X for six years, and it has been an incredible car. But with my new Model Y L on order, it was finally time to say goodbye to the X.

I decided to trade it directly through Tesla rather than deal with the hassle of selling it privately. The entire process was handled through the Tesla app.

I uploaded photos of my Model X, answered a few questions about the car, and Tesla offered me $32,000 for the trade-in, which I accepted.

From there, everything was surprisingly seamless. Once a VIN was assigned to my new Y L, the app prompted me to get insurance and upload the information. Tesla then provided the final amount due, I wired the money, and they scheduled the day for the swap.

And that was it.
