Great pic! Most Speedsters don't have a rear spare.. Thats the first i've seen!!!

Car has wheel disks, rear spare, and a white steering wheel. Very interesting.

Not sure I like the spare on that car. Looks like it breaks up the lines of the tail?

Agreed. This is not the car for a rear mount spare, which typically looks great on all other prewar cars. To stream line a design to be broken up.

I just noticed the holes in the grill, and the running board on the car.

Looks beat to crap. Typical of a movie car. There are other pictures of this car or a similar one with a rear spare somewhere. I just can't find them.

Virginia Bruce was born in 1910 and had a substantial career in 1930s and 1940s, best known for introducing Cole Porter’s “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” in Born to Dance (1936) and playing a Ziegfeld showgirl in The Great Ziegfeld the same year. Weirdly 3 of her 4 husbands died within a few years of marrying her (she didn't do it). She largely retired from films in the early 1960s and died of cancer in 1982.

Like many actors and actresses her personal life was "complicated". Her first marriage ceremony was in her future husbands dressing room after a play he was performing in. They divorced a few years later and he was dead a year after that There was a pattern with the next husbands passing away early.

Eddie -- you have my Dad's and mine Male Fantasy No 54. I've heard something along the line of my Dad and another guy took a joyride in one of these, circa 1941. He sort of parted company with high school then, after getting caught. If true, at least he had good taste!
