Panhard et Levassor came up in another thread and I was thinking that is a marque that is worthy of its own thread. An interesting brand with great styling and many had Knight engines.

I saw this incredible 1912 X19 Labourdette Skiff-Torpedo. Apparently the body was recreated to match the original model in the 1970s. The car is in the Louwman Museum in the Netherlands. https://louwmanmuseum.nl/en/car/panhard-et-levassor-x19-labourdette-skiff-torpedo/

30 years ago Norwich NY had 9 fortune 500 corp headquarters located within a relatively small city. Within a short 3 year period most of them moved out of state which was devastating . The creation of the Northeast Classic Car Museum was an effort by the city and the Staley family to create a tourist destination. This is a fantastic museum and well worth a visit by any car lover. There are 180 or so cars spread through a beautiful facility right in the heart of the town. We spent a couple of hours there yesterday including lunch and a talk by the Robert Jeffery the executive director who explained the history.

E13 Article from the 1960s published in Light Steam Power

This interesting article was sent to me by Terry Harper.  Originally published in the 1960s in LIght Steam Power (Vol. XXIII No. 5).  Many years ago he bought a first edition of Walton's "Steam Cars, Buses, & Lorries" at a library book sale in Somesville, Maine. What was interesting was that the attached pamphlet concerning E13 was tucked away between the pages.

The article covers B. T. Rankine purchase of 1924 Doble E13 in 1966 and the urgent restoration to enter it in New Zealand’s 13th International Vintage Car Rally.

The original body, leather upholstery, and folding top  were in good condition, but the four-cylinder compound engine and monotube steam generator had suffered years of abuse and improper modifications.    In 10 months they were able to get the car running and were able to participate successfully in the month long rally.   The article describes the challenges to make the car run.

Not sure if folks here are into motorcycles too but I'm going to hype my friend, Paul a little bit.
Paul Brodie has a YouTube channel, he used to run Brodie Research and Technology during the 1990s building mountain bikes in Richmond, B.C.
He builds replicas of Excelsior OHC twin board track bikes now. He builds the frames, engines and everything in his shop in Langley, B.C.

Expert opinion

Hello.
I am 40 years young and from Switzerland and an absolute classic car and motorcycle fanatic.
I already own several cars and motorcycles.
There's a Peerless advertised in Switzerland now.
I haven't contacted the seller yet, as I don't know much about Peerless. So, my question to you experts, what do you think of this one:
