Great cars, great roads, and a great reason to bring the next generation along for the ride. The Benny 500 is doing exactly that—using the love of old cars to create memories, bring families together, and hopefully spark a lifelong passion for cars in a few more kids.

If you’re anywhere near New England, this looks like a pretty awesome road trip. 🏁

I have a December 1934 issue of Motorsport magazine from the UK. It has a recap of the year’s Motorsport headlines. Some very interesting stuff, especially this:  I knew of the “Silver Arrow” Grand Prix cars but never knew that Mercedes Benz built a closed body car for speed runs. It beat the previous flying mile record by almost 50mph!

We started the tour Monday morning driving along the Blue Ridge highway. It was a great scenic drive with a lunch stop at a winery. Enjoy the photos and I will continue posting over the next few days……… we are driving two Dusenberg‘s. You will not see photos of them because we don’t post our cars on social media. My husband Parker and I started the Bennett Automotive Foundation in 2024 in memory of our son, Benny. Our foundation focuses on getting these old cars in front of kids of all ages and backgrounds. Our goal is to help the classic car industry and help light a spark with the younger generation.

Our biggest fundraiser is the Benny 500 Tour. In 2025 we did a 500 mile route from central Massachusetts, through Sunapee, NH up to Stowe, VT and back. It was an incredible journey through the mountains, making connections over old cars and great food! Last June we traversed to the Berkshires and back and added a few additional friends to our growing Benny 500 family.

In July of 2027 we are headed to the coast! We will once again start in central Mass (at the incredible Harding Allen Estate) and we will find our finish line at the Misselwood Concours d' Elegance! Registration is open and I am happy to answer any questions that you may have.

I made the trip to New Jersey over the weekend to participate in this wonderful car show by a really great Car Collector.  Tom Maoli…I’m honored to call him a friend.

This one is a little depressing for anyone who loves old cars.

Snook’s Dream Cars, a small classic car museum in Ohio, is closing after 24 years. The reason? The museum’s longtime mechanic is retiring, and the owner couldn’t find anyone who could take over keeping the collection running.

Kind of a bummer that the cars are leaving the museum because there wasn’t someone around to keep them running.

I found a couple of old Ford books buried in the archives of my shop basement. One from 1973 and one from 1976. As you can imagine, custom vans were one of the features in them, including a section called “Vanteriors”. Some of these were crazy. Certainly enough to get any teenage boy banned from many a teenage girl’s driveway.
