1931 Packard Model 8-45 Custom Victoria by Rollston.

Here's a picture I bought a few years back. I believe this to be taken of two cars in 1915 traveling south along the California coast possibly in Mendocino County, a favorite place of mine. Anybody able to identify the cars these adventurous travelers were driving?

In 1934, Hupmobile phased out the “cycle fender” cars and introduced their second Raymond Leowy-designed body style, the Aerodynamic series. Much like Chrysler’s Airflow, it was a polarizing style choice. The six cylinder 421-J and the eight cylinder 427-T were basically the same mechanically as the previous model K and I cars.

Nice Gullwing just sold on BAT. A reasonable price for a solid car with a re-color and oldish restoration!

This is the kind of paint work that I love doing. I’ve always liked the challenge of matching primer colors, gloss level, seam sealer, etc. and trying to make it look like it never happened. Nobody will likely ever see it, but I know, and that’s good enough for me.

Let's talk events. The Belltown (East Hampton, CT) meet is always the first Sunday in August. This is a heavy prewar meet with two msin fields - prewar cars gwt the premier field. A great meet with a cut off around 1990.

The swap has shrunk significantly but the show draws a lot of interesting independents, brass , Classics, prod through 42 and of course A, T & early V8 Ford.

In 1933, inventor Brooks Walker developed an innovative “fifth wheel” attachment that could be extended sideways from a car’s rear bumper to assist with parallel parking.

This additional wheel slightly raised the rear tires and rotated the vehicle sideways into narrow spaces, an inventive concept that was well ahead of its era. Pretty remarkable automotive engineering.
