This is the interior and dashboard of a 1937 Packard Convertible 120 convertible coupe. The large round item under the dashboard is the heater. You open each of the doors by their little finger pulls to get heat inside the car and when you close the doors, it forces the air up to the defroster, driver side only.
The three red buttons on the side of the column are for each tone of a three tone horn. That is not Packard, but a well thought out and fun accessory by the restorer. 
Gasoline, oil pressure, temperature and charging indicator are the smaller gauges. Large gauges are the speedometer and clock.
Smaller items are the ignition key, which is on or off, starter button, knob to pull out a little ashtray, and a cigar lighter.  A three position headlight switch as well as a throttle pull to increase the idle speed. Lockable glove box.

the problem with old parts that have sat with water in...... these conrods have the outer race of the roller bearing machined and ground into the rod its self, regrinding is not an option as the relative circumferences and roller diameter no longer works and when you loose a roller there becomes a big gap between them .
we are making new rods and cranks from billet and will update as we progress, this is the first few stages of making the rods them selves
My mechanic just picked up the rear brake drums from machine shop.. They did a great job.. Rear brakes are finally back together and ready to roll! Front wheels are another story.. might need to fix/replace the front axel... Ouch!
The automotive hobby, like any other, has many different levels of involvement. There seems to be a scale of severity that ranges anywhere from stamp collecting to hunting humans for sport. Sometimes the little simple things can be the most fun. Here’s an example: a fellow AACA member contacted me a while back and told me that he found something buried in a drawer that he wanted me to have for my Hupmobile collection. Nothing priceless, just a promotional pencil that was given out by a dealer in Peoria Illinois. I thought it was pretty cool, since he could have just as easily thrown it out rather than going through all the trouble of mailing it to me. Perhaps the gesture says more about the hobby than the object. Anyone else have any interesting items that have just turned up over the years?
This guy Jeremiah Jones is a Tesla influences with 100k subscribers but he is also a fair and balanced reviewer. He got a test drive in the new R2 and I thought this was a great review.
I was not on my own at this time, I was working for another shop. I can't take credit for the paint, body work or upholstery but I did completely dismantle, clean, repair and reassemble this car to a running, drivable state and it's still one of my favourite cars of all time.

French Lick Indiana is hosting the Tri-Region Indiana/Michigan/Ohio CCCA Grand Classic this weekend. If you haven't been there, try to find a way to fit it into your travels. We had some postings earlier about the West Baden resort in French Lick. A stunning destination place. Old Car lovers seem to gravitate to the facilities and region. The Ford Model A Restorers Club was there last week and it looked like a great time as well.
