Claude is rediculous!  I prompted  it to create a hand drawn sketch of my car from a photo.

I recently came across the story of Audi Tradition commissioning restoration experts Crosthwaite and Gardiner to recreate the streamlined Auto Union record car that was used for speed record attempts near Lucca, Italy, in 1935. The original machine was an incredible piece of engineering for its day, with a smooth aluminum body that completely enclosed the wheels and gave it a shape that looked more like an aircraft than a race car. Every curve served a purpose, helping the car cut through the air at a time when aerodynamic design was still a relatively new concept. Looking at it today, it’s easy to see why the car seemed so futuristic. It captured the spirit of an era when engineers and drivers were constantly chasing higher speeds and willing to experiment with bold new ideas to get there. Pretty cool! Read more here:

Raymond Mays has a rear wheel depart from his Bugatti Type 13 Brescia during the 1924 Caerphilly Mountain Hill Climb in Wales.

Moments like this are a reminder of just how different racing was a century ago. Drivers attacked hill climbs, road races, and circuits with little more than a leather helmet, a pair of goggles, and a healthy disregard for danger. Mechanical failures were common, safety equipment was virtually nonexistent, and the risks were simply accepted as part of the sport. #bugatti #racing

1911 Model T Triple gear bushings reamed to size and chamfered.
Bushing fit on the pins is 0.002" as per Ford specs for new parts.

I think I need one of these. If any still exist, that is. Seems like a cross between a Red Bug, a cycle car, and a DIY go-kart. It was a short-lived company from 1912-1914. The Lad’s Car had a 72 inch wheelbase, so more of a cycle car scale.
