As the gathering of automobile lovers grows on RumbleSeat, I enjoy seeing the diverse interests that are ending up here to pass time and meet others. I learn from other members and find new cars to read and research.

My interests primarily are in PreWar cars, but at 61 I've had a lot of different things starting at age 16. One constant over most of my life has been to have a roadster. Typically British, but a couple of Alfa Romeo's were also in the stable in my 20's and 30's. I am currently without one, and want to change that at some point.

I saw this video a few years ago..... and a shout out to "Petrolicious", who seem to put out content that makes me feel I'm engaging with like minded folks.........

A roadster, something to stir our passion and make us feel more alive than the "Do everything for you modern car experience"

Any Roadster (of all types) fans here?

@hupp32 might argue I'm wasting my time.  But my "new to me" 12 year old truck looked great until I ran it through the car wash and all of a sudden all this rust that I failed to find during my 10 minute inspection started to show.  So bit by bit I've been wire brushing and coating it with POR15.  Fortunately the silver is great match.   For some reason only the bottom edge of the drivers door was rusting.  This was surface rust so in this case I might be doing something worth while.

Never a dull moment in the auto body repair world. A customer brought in her suv with an unusual problem. She left it sitting in her driveway with the tailgate open after unloading some things from the back. A while later, she remembered and closed the gate with the key fob. Just one little problem. There was a bear inside it!

Maybe a bit early for a "best swap meet find of the year" thread but I was pretty excited and surprised to stumble on this dealer Poster of a 1940 Packard Convertible Coupe at a hot rod parts meet a couple of weeks ago. Seller was surprised someone with a 40 Packard convertible was at the show! We like a little bit of everything..

Crazy build. A car with a 27 litre V12 engine from a Spitfire. Just wow.

More 1911 Model T transmission assembly today.
Drums installed on transmission shaft.
Clutch hub installed. Must have had it on and off about eight times. Some machining was required to get the new brake drum, new thrust washers and old clutch hub to have the proper clearance. 0.015" - 0.022" is required and I'm dead on 0.015" so there's room for wear.
The new brake drum uses the '26-'27 style clips on the drum lugs to prevent the clutch discs from wearing into the brake drum.
New, original style steel clutch discs going in to replace the worn-out Turbo 400 clutches.
Clutch spring, pin and retainer installed.
This is why a Model T is great on poor roads and hard to stall. This whole assembly weighs about 70lbs.
