Here’s a coach built car that’s a real head scratcher. It was owned by James Scripps Booth and the notes on the photos seem to imply that he designed the body, but there are some things that make no sense. It’s said to be built on a 1917-1919 Hupmobile but it looks more like a 1924 to me. The body looks more or less standard with the exception of the fenders and aprons. It also says that the chassis was by Bohman and Schwartz, which also doesn’t make much sense. They weren’t in business until the early 30’s so this car had to have been fairly old at the time.

Today is the last day of the Benny 500 Tour of western Massachusetts.   This tour is put on by Parker Roaf and his wife Sherri.   The purpose of the tour is to raise money for the Bennet Foundation which works with local vocational schools to  expose kids to antique auto repair.    This is something I completely support.

Last night was the tour wrap up dinner and today we are traveling to the  American Heritage Museum in Hudson Mass.   Normally I would wait to post this to make sure I don't jinx making it home but we are only 25 miles away at this point.

Later today I'll go in to more detail with more pictures of what the tour was like.   Total tour was about 500 miles and we had 18 cars,  15 of which were prewar.

Paul Newman owned this remarkable 1963 Volkswagen Beetle, which was initially powered by a Porsche engine. Time for some work on the Speed Six!  Brake job, new king pins, and new bearing!!!  Had to order parts from England....Ouch!!!

There was a car show and BBQ at our local golf course today so I took my 2013 Moto Guzzi Stelvio.
There were so many Harley riders there, it looked like Captain Jack Sparrow was having a hiring fair.
She's one lonely Italian...
