The Jet boat with a built 454 or 427 was the staple of every decent sized lake in the 70s. They made a lot of noise but were not good for anything other than making a fast pass up and down the lake.

My aunt and uncle lived on a 2 mile long lake and there was a guy at one end with one of these. Every morning he would take a single run up and down the lake and wake everyone up.
