Finally pulled the trigger on ordering the new Launch Edition Model Y L. I have had a Model X for about 6 years and been looking for a another electric car/truck.. Rivian was high on the list.. but nothing beats the autopilot on the Tesla Model Y! Now i have to wait a few months for delivery!!!
Teardown for cleaning and inspection on the Ruckstell axle. So far it looks like minimal wear. It has the high-speed, 14-tooth pinion installed.
Axle tubes will be modified for safety hubs.
Yes, that is a loonie (Canadian dollar coin) that someone was using as a thrust washer. It looks like brass but it's not.

14 years later my 1931 REO Royale is ready for its public debut at Pebble Beach next month. Shipper is showing up in 10 days. Just finishing up minor details but the car is ready to go.
On Monday we did a 75 mile ride to RI and back to prove it will do the 80 mile Pebble tour. Nice 80 degree day and the ride was very comfortable. With the 4.07 rear end the car is very comfortable at 50-55 mph.

This is the interior and dashboard of a 1937 Packard Convertible 120 convertible coupe. The large round item under the dashboard is the heater. You open each of the doors by their little finger pulls to get heat inside the car and when you close the doors, it forces the air up to the defroster, driver side only.
The three red buttons on the side of the column are for each tone of a three tone horn. That is not Packard, but a well thought out and fun accessory by the restorer. 
Gasoline, oil pressure, temperature and charging indicator are the smaller gauges. Large gauges are the speedometer and clock.
Smaller items are the ignition key, which is on or off, starter button, knob to pull out a little ashtray, and a cigar lighter.  A three position headlight switch as well as a throttle pull to increase the idle speed. Lockable glove box.
I found it difficult to do video work if I was by myself so I decided to invest in Meta glasses. Here’s the result.
the problem with old parts that have sat with water in...... these conrods have the outer race of the roller bearing machined and ground into the rod its self, regrinding is not an option as the relative circumferences and roller diameter no longer works and when you loose a roller there becomes a big gap between them .
we are making new rods and cranks from billet and will update as we progress, this is the first few stages of making the rods them selves
