Tesla Model "S" compared to the Lucid "Air". Ran into a friend last night that has a new Lucid. He has owned 4 different electric cars including the Model S. He says the Lucid is superior to the "S" and indicated range, charging and build quality as the reasons. The general comparison you see online is as follows: The Tesla Model S excels with its charging network, superior software, and gaming infotainment, while the Lucid Air offers superior range, faster charging architecture, and a more upscale, traditional luxury interior. Does anybody here have first hand experience with both cars? As you know I want to buy a used "S" but this guy was really pushing the Lucid.

I love the look of the Lucid. Got a test drive in one a couple of years ago. Really nice interior. If you want to go fast the Plaid is faster. Also, the supercharger network is a big plus for the Tesla. You can charge your Lucid on the supercharger network but there is an issue with the Gen 1 and Gen 2 stations because of the high voltage on the Lucid. Since my username is "TeslaFan" I need to stick with the "S" but I like the Lucid.

This seems to be a very popular comparison to make. There are lots of videos and articles comparing the two cars.

There are strengths to both cars. I have driven both and the general comments above are true. The interior in the Lucid is far superior to the Tesla. Both have comparable range and performance. Tesla has a better dealer network and superior software. If self driving is your thing, I expect Tesla to win that battle.

This is a good article comparing the performance models. The biggest difference here is the price. The Tesla being significantly cheaper. The article is 2 years old but rings true still.
