I agree with you. Feels like they came and went like lightening. I guess you had to get a special invite. Here are the performance specs:
Model S Signature:~1,020 hp tri-motor AWD
0-60 mph: 1.99 seconds
Top speed: 200 mph
Range: ~309 miles EPA est.
Quarter-mile: ~9.23s @ ~155 mph trap
Model X Signature:~1,020 hp tri-motor AWD
0-60 mph: 2.5 seconds
Top speed: 163 mph
Range: ~303 miles EPA est.
They include adaptive suspension, excellent handling, and the latest Tesla tech (yoke, big touchscreen, etc.).

@alsancle Basic Plaid specs. Looks like the signature is a load Plaid with extra visual elements.
These were not about boosting ongoing sales or introducing new performance, more about a final farewell to the models that built the company. The re-sale restrictions and selective sales were all about creating an instant collectible I think. I did not get an invite. Not that I have the spare change.
This was a cool idea and a nice way to end the models. Instant collectibles for sure. You needed to be a Tesla owner from way back to get the invite. I wonder how may invites it took to sell 300 cars?
Is there any precedent for the last of a model being as collectible as the first of a model? Maybe further back in automotive history? I suppose the unique variants might make it more collectible. I still say it’s a damn shame that they got rid of the S and X, actual luxury vehicles. I understand economics weren’t there versus the 3 and Y but I doubt I buy another new Tesla now. I am spoiled by the X level features. Maybe a used 2026 in 2030 if at all to replace my 2020.
@TwilightChrome I'm disappointed also. Tesla does not break out Model S and Model X deliveries separately from Cybertruck but the three luxury models combined accounted for 3% of sales. And the X and S were both 10 year old platforms.
