So I guess the only 48V tech on the market right now is found in the Cybertruck. This new platform from Ford is supposed to be 48V also. So the 48V replaces the traditional 12V battery. Somebody explain to me what the 12V battery does in a Tesla?

Reading up on this a bit more it is Ford's first from scratch EV platform with the previous tries being retrofits to gas models. The general principal makes sense to me: low cost basic ev chassis with multiple body configurations. Harkens back to the prewar days of car building.

I want to see more details. Possibly a great concept if they deliver something cool for a much lower price point than Rivian and Cybertruck.
