Brigitte Bardot at the Rome Grand Prix in Castelfusano, 1954 is one of those perfect snapshots of the era. Motorsport was raw, glamorous, and a little dangerous, and she looks completely at home in the middle of it.
Rest in peace, Brigitte Bardot. Whether you knew her from film or from photos like this, she represented a kind of fearless presence that feels rare today. #automotivehistory

The 1954 Venus. The company made maybe 6 bodies. Enough to create a bit of stir and get magazine cover status. The fiberglass bodies were designed to sit on full-length (114” wheelbase) 1949 to 1951 Ford chassis and were priced at $875. The Venus sales flyer revealed that any Detroit V-8 would fit under the long hood and that the engine could be moved back 18”. The body included two mounted doors, a mounted hood, instrument panel, firewall, floor boards and polished aluminum windshield posts.
The 53 Packard Caribbean is one of my favorite 1950s cars. My dad owned 4 of them over the years. Check out this one in the marketplace.
