Ever hear of a Root & Vandervort Knight Automobile?  Circa 1924?  Neither did I.   The Knight engine means it has sleeve valves instead of poppet values.   An invention of Charles Knight in the early 20th century when metallurgy demanded frequent valve jobs for poppet engines.   Check out this listing in the marketplace:
