McLaren

Went to a car meet last weekend, didnt even get to look around at the cars before the cops showed up. Then 5 minutes after they shut it down, everyone in their modern traffic left and a McLaren shows up. You never know who’s gonna show up at a car meet.

Help the old guys understand how this works. What level of organizing is there? Just one guy texting everyone saying lets meet up in such and such a parking lot?

When I was a kid each town had its set of meet up spots. Keep in mind we didn't have cell phones. In my town we had 2 drive in theaters, 2 different sand pits and a couple of off road sort of spots where police would not bother to go. We would spend all of Friday and Saturday night driving between 1/2 dozen spots trying to find our friends.

In the late 50s into the 60s the drive in was the place for the meet ups. Every town had one and a lot of towns had a few. By the 80s most them were long gone. Good times.

Amazing what you see just driving around. I would guess a McLaren 570S? 2016/17/18 around there.

A guy next to us has one. Sounds just like that... we always know when he's in or out.

I outran a McLaren on my motorcycle once.
Sitting at a stop light, me on my 1952 Matchless 500. McLaren pulls up next to me.
I look over at the guy and crack the throttle a couple times.
Buddy laughs and looks back at the light.
Green light, I release all 32hp the best way I can and make it through the intersection before he even realizes that he left the car in neutral. Lol.
My win was incredibly temporary.
