Is This What They Meant By “Roaring” Twenties?

It’s that time of year again to dress up our yard statues for Halloween. We went with a 20’s theme and invented the ….Dino-flapper? Flappersaurus? Well anyway, we may not be quite period correct here because the car is a couple years too new and there’s a bit of a spread between the 1920’s and the early Cretaceous Period. The neighborhood kids get a kick out of them every year.

We are a little past peak color here so you must be in the middle of it? Have never had a single kid come up my drive at either house we have owned although for years we would leave the drive lights on and put a bowl of candy out. Never a single taker.

We’re just a bit past peak here as well. We lost a lot of leaves with the wind this week but it’s still decent color. We live on a cul de sac and there are several young families on the street so we get a few kids because it’s an okay road to walk on without getting run over.

Our yard is fairly sedate although my wife puts out a few things on our porch. But my neighbor has these 10 foot tall things he got who knows where. They are not blow up so no idea how he stores them the other 11 months of the year. Example attached.

Wow, that’s something. Though, I can’t really judge. Our statues stay out year round and get decorated for each holiday.
