The Locomobile Society is back!
We are excited to announce the relaunch of The Locomobile Society. After a several year absence The Locomobile Society and associated website will be active with a new web presence and administrative structure.
The Locomobile Society of America was established in March, 1989 by a group of serious automobile enthusiasts who appreciated and valued the Locomobile as one of the finest motor cars built in the last century. The founding board members were Norman Buckhart, Phil Hill, Douglas and William Magee, Jack Passey, Andrew Riker III, and Henry Austin Clark.
The objective of the Society was to establish and maintain a complete registry of the surviving cars, to disseminate an accurate history of the Locomobile, and provide technical and historical information to owners and admirers of the Locomobile Marque. We are deeply grateful to our charter members whose early dedication laid the groundwork for everything we hope to accomplish going forward. We intend to honor that original mission while preserving its legacy, and continue to introduce these fantastic cars to future generations.
We hope to make the website the primary destination for owners and lovers of the Locomobile Marque. The membership is free and you don’t need to own a Locomobile to join, just establish a Rumbleseat account and then click on the Locomobile Society and join. We hope you will find it worthy of your time and we are committed to keeping it updated, full of useful information and constantly evolving with fresh content.
