Doble Engine Parts Update

lots of parts now under way machining, it has been quite a long journey getting to this point with all the different drawings and changes Doble made just establishing what went with what, 10 different designs to this one engine !!! different valve travels, different valves and cylinders !!!!

Each of those castings is a single cylinder with 2 piston valves?  There are 2 of them on the F cars and 4 on the E?  Somewhere I read that 2 of the cylinders were smaller on the E.

the cylinders that you can see here are E cylinders and are a wolfe compound, that is HP and LP pistons and one valve that serves both, The E has a LH set and a RH set as laid out so the E (in this configuration) has two HPs, two larger LPs and just 2 valves . it is basically two compound engines running on one crank, the F engine is a simpler affair with only one HP and one LP and two Valves
