Interesting video I found on youtube comparing a Stanley to a Doble. I believe it was 2 minutes for the Doble vs 17 for the Stanely. I wish they showed the Doble driving like they did with the Stanley.
Any thoughts from the experts on here?
The whitewalls on the Doble are a crime. I wish they drove the Doble also. Since your handle is "FlashBoiler" I assume you know why the Doble can steam in 2 minutes vs the Stanley. Boiling just a small amount of water vs the huge amount the Stanley boils. Would love to see a complete comparison of all the features.

@chris is the guy we need to comment here. I know the 17 minutes for the Stanley is fair, is the 2 minutes for the Doble accuarte?
The times are probably prettt accurate. Although it does rather depend when you start the timing from. Assuming that the stanley has its gauge glass half full you can light up. But I always had the pilot/sub burner on for 10 mins before I could start the main.. and.conversly if the doble coil is empty and you need to fill it with the auxiliary pump that can take 2 minutes alone. That would make lets say 5 minutes of preperation against 25 ..... as I said it just depends when you start the clock
Thank you! So I guess it "all depends" but the flash boiler system is much faster to get going.
I don't know if this is true or not but my understanding is that in period, your Stanley owner would leave the pilot over night which would help keep the boiler temp up also keep pipes from freezing.
