I bought this car from a friend in late June and promptly had it running after diagnosing a bad ECU and various grounding issues. Upon getting it started it had a loud knock which was undisclosed. Fast forward just over a month later it has a new motor and is back on the road!
Did you really do that in your driveway! Kudos to you Chris. I pulled the engine out of my Shelby in my parents driveway and had my girlfriend at the time standing in the engine compartment with a power washer. Like an idiot I got zero pictures to prove it.
My parents were not to pleased when they saw the engine no longer in the car! My girlfriend was being supportive but I might have to take this idea for next time !
When I had this second one in the back dropped off in the driveway I came very close to having to live in it. So I get the situation.
That is one SPUN rod bearing. Did you have to take it apart to find it or did the rod find its way out of the block on its own? I’ve tried it both ways. Less oil to clean up the first way.
A few more minutes of running and there would have been no bearing left ! Never seen CHUNKS of metal on a dipstick before…
