Richard, how many windows on the side? That tells you where it is on the VW Micro-Bus scale of collecting. The flagship 23 window Samba made up until around 1963 is the top of the mountain.It had a deluxe body with extra side glass, curved rear corner windows, eight roof skylights, and a full-length fabric sunroof. Built for sightseeing (originally marketed for Alpine touring). The Samba is the one people mean when they say “the 23-window.”
