1963 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster
Rolling art. The Gullwing gets all the attention, but the Roadster is so beautiful. And the Fire Engine Red paint is perfect.

I've worked on a 300SL Roadster, they're pretty advanced for the time. An amazing automobile.
The Gullwing and the XK120 both came out in 1948. They must have looked like they came from outer space.

In 1962 my father traded his 1958 XK150s Jag with 66,000 original miles for a 1962 300SL. The Jag was a great touring car but the 300SL was simply incredible. I still think of it as the definition of a post war sports car. Yes, my 2001 S54 BMW Z3M is more sophisticated but that Merecedes roadster is one I will never forget.

@DuesyGuy has been looking at 300 SLs for the last 5 years. He knows a lot about them. I drove a roadster once and got the religion. Fastest production car you could buy in the 1950s (if you count Ferrari as custom/race cars).

The gullwing is where its at. Except all I see is guys driving around town with their doors open because there is no ventilation.

Such an awesome car, got to see one in person once but not as clean as this one.
