Tires make a difference
I am huge fan of Blackwall tires. I feel they give the car a more masculine appearance. If you have Chrome wheels, black tires are a must! Compare the two photos.

Preaching to the choir my friend.

I like both whitewalls and blackwalls. It depends on the color of the car for me. A very light colored car can look good with white walls, while dark cars look better with black.
Funny this topic came u p. I was trolling the RM auctions website and this 32 Ford caught my eye. But the wheels don't do it for me.
I think it looks much better with these wheels.
I like it. Maybe black wheels too?
Blue wheels look perfect! 32 Ford Roadster is a dream car of mine.
Never thought of myself as a Ford guy but I dig this roadster. V8 car?

I love this roadster! Saw it the other day trolling the RM site. Here is the link to the auction:

Much better. Which model is this? I can never seem to figure out which Packard model I’m looking at.

34 Standard Eight Victoria. The fenders tell you the year and the bumpesr or hood length tell you the model.
33 vs 34 can be tricky. You need to look at the front of the fenders. I have trouble with the late 20s Packards. They all look alike to me.

You are correct. Look at the fenders 32-34 to figure out which year. I need to look at the wheels for late 20s Packard but it is still a crap shoot trying to guess what year and model.

Part of the problem with modern tires is the WW is too wide. Historical photos show they were much smaller and can look pretty good.

Studebaker President club sedan!!!!! Love it.
Me too!

Whitewalls look great on this car.

How bout on this MG?

How about this? Stutz MB with whitewalls.

And with blackwalls.

And with the top changed to black.
