Detroit Historical Society's backroom collection

Youtube video description: Tom Cotter gets an exclusive and in-depth tour of the Detroit Historical Society's backroom collection, showcasing priceless Detroit icons. These rare cars are meticulously preserved in climate-controlled bubbles known as car capsules to suspend and slow the aging process so future generations have the opportunity to enjoy them.

Great video!

Those are crazy cars.   Some very very rare things.  Not what I expected from that video.  The Auto-BiGo needs to be out where people can see it.

I don't think that is a Pan American.  I'm not sure what that is.   This is one of the 6? Pan Americans.

Interesting video, especially early Cobras. The Packard associated with Henry Joy is incorrectly called a 1916 Twin-Six instead of a 1917. The difference is very noticeable since the earlier 1st Series had non-detachable heads and the second series had detachable heads. Earlier ones had spark plugs in ports and later ones directly into heads since there were no ports needed to remove valves.

Packards on line roster indicates this car is 1917 2-35 car owned at one time by Cameron Peck. The car reportedly was on 1950 Glidden (Peck) and on 1952 Glidden (Joy).
