Crank and rods. These are aftermarket rods as they do not have a BM part number. The entire bottom end is in good shape. I suspect this engine was rebuilt by Mackenzie Guppy in the 1960’s and has done very little mileage since. Mac was a genius and an incredible Bentley engineer.
Sump all cleaned out. Notice the baffles in the lower sump. This is made to stop oil flow to front of sump on long downhill grades when oil pressure can be lost. This was a later improvement not on earlier cars.
That engine is a work of art.
