I'm going to do a separate thread on our specific experience showing a car and what happens during the day. But I was still able to get a bunch of photos of the other cars so here they are.
Start off with some 1950s coachbuilt Ferrari. I'm a fan of the V12 coachbuilt stuff. And there were some nice ones.
Next is what I consider the most valuable prewar car in the world. From the Henry Ford, Type 41 Bugatti Royale. Has not run in decades. But still worth 10s of millions.
A.J., I saw this car at the Henry Ford years ago. The scale and size is hard to describe without standing next to it. Shame they don't have it running.
New friend with a Phantom I Springfield that has been in his family for 70 years. Fresh and beautiful restoration. New to the hobby but a great guy, he had his sons with him. @MilburnDrysdale rode shotgun with him on the tour and coached him up.
@Edinmass's bosses car. 1936 Cadillac V16 Aero coupe. 100% perfect Steve Babinsky restoration that was just finished. Only took a 2nd in class because of the bad luck of being in the the worlds fair class.
What a stunning car. The random variables that are beyond your control didn’t help this car. A different year a different category and I’m sure it would’ve had a different result. What a statement automobile. Speaking of Steve Babinsky, I was happy to see him recognized in the preservation class with the 1916 Crane Simplex.
John, as you probably know Steve paid all the money in the world for this at the Lucas auction as he was going up against @mattgoist's boss. He has wanted that car for years. It is just as cool in person and Steve did a lot of work to get it running for the show. He described it to me as complex as a RR.
I do remember when that car sold at the Lucas auction. I was a little confused at the price. But it makes sense after the fact. Two people really wanted it. I wondered (as well as others), if it was going to reset the crane simplex market. Time will tell, but I suspect it was just a one time aberration.
It’s good to know the car is in great hands and I’m hoping to someday see it
A combination of factors that will not be repeated. Singular car with two guys that really wanted it.
Some Bugatti including one that is worth 75 million dollars.
Probably the nicest Tucker in the world.
Paxton prototype. Very cool and in the preservation class. It was very untouched.

Did not know guys were still trying steam after WWII. Interesting article. Did they have it steaming on the field?

1930 Minerva AL that was part of the Academy of Arts auction last year. 400 CI Sleeve valve straight 8 and one of maybe a dozen known AL cars. Owned by a big collector in Texas.
Only known Jordan Model Z. A few of these roadsters were built along with a couple of sedans. One of the sedans was still around post WWII but has never been found.
More Ferrari.
Fiat 8V Ghia.
Porsche.
A buddy of mine asked if this was the first time a REO Royale was ever in a picture with a Bugatti Royale. I think the answer is probably "yes".
Murphy bodied L29 Towncar. I think this was one of the short wheelbase cars.
50 HP Glide. I believe the only one in the world. Restored by a friend of mine in California who did amazing work in a short amount of time.
Wow, look at the wheels on that thing.
This car really caught my eye on the live stream. I had never heard of Glide before. Big HP for a Brass car.
One of my favorite RR. Brewster bodied Phantom I "Windblown coupe".
Not sure what to think about the paint on this one. It's striking. I don't hate it.
Fancy two passenger Phantom II RR. Very rare for a 2 passenger body style.
One of my most favorite cars in the whole show. 1933 Cadillac V16 convertible sedan.
