75 Mile Test Drive Video
On Monday we did 75 miles down to Rhode Island and back. 2 lane divided the whole way. 40 to 55 mph speed limit roads. With the 4.07 rear end 50 mph is very comfortable.

So I think I'm wrong in this video. We were not quite turning 2500 RPM for the 50 something mile an hour speed. Computing the RPM for 32.5" tires with 4.07 rear end ratio works out to something like this:
30 mph 1,262 rpm
35 mph 1,472 rpm
40 mph 1,682 rpm
45 mph 1,893 rpm
50 mph 2,103 rpm
55 mph 2,313 rpm
60 mph 2,524 rpm
65 mph 2,734 rpm
70 mph 2,944 rpm
Redline for the engine is 3400, so top speed would be around 82 miles an hour. The 3.77 rear end gives these results:
30 mph 1,169 RPM
35 mph 1,364 RPM
40 mph 1,559 RPM
45 mph 1,754 RPM
50 mph 1,949 RPM
55 mph 2,144 RPM
60 mph 2,339 RPM
65 mph 2,533 RPM
70 mph 2,728 RPM

That video makes me seriously jealous of that 4.07 axle ratio. You didn’t have to yell to speak over the engine at 50+.

Exhaust note is on the loud side and we had the windows open but you are correct, engine whine was not noticeable. I think the 32.5" outside diameter tires help. What surprised me was the difference between a 4.07 and a 3.77 and not as great as I would have thought.

She sounds strong and smooth. I'm glad you had a chance to put the car through its paces before the real deal. Its good to know it cruises well at 50 mph. I'm wondering realistically what your average speed will be on the drive at the Concours once you've left the venue and gotten on the road. Will 35 be more like it? Do they stage things so faster cars aren't behind a brass or nickel era car with more modest cruising speeds?
