A local Model T restorer has been helping to keep me busy with these odd wood jobs lately. This car was rewooded at some time in the past and whoever did it replaced the front wood floor board risers with metal ones. The current owner wants wood risers, so I'm Making a set. He wants the car returned to what it was when Grandpa bought it new. Sentimentality, it's whats for lunch, it's what keeps me fed anyway.

Well, between this and @ShawnG work we have a lot of Model T action going on. Do you know what year that is? 4 Passenger Phaeton like this?

Comparing photos, you have rear hinged doors so a much earlier car?

I think this one is a 15 but I'm not sure. He's got a couple he's restoring right now, I made a Mahogany veneered firewall for the other one recently that I think is an 18. I'm not familiar enough with Ts to be able to tell the difference at a glance. Doesn't really matter to me, I just make and fit parts to whatever he brings over.

Once you have patterns made, it may not hurt to let Lang's and Snyder's know that you can make the pieces.
Model T reproduction parts that were once readily available seem to be dropping off the map. I'm sure that someone out there would need them.

One of the reasons I have the car is because the reproduction floorboard risers he had didn't fit the car, so I made a set that do. I try to avoid making parts that I can't fit to the car. Also, I have enough to do without trying to keep up with catalog orders and the problems with the parts not fitting the car. I'm happy to build pretty much anything for a car that someone wants to send to me.

Like most of the skilled guys I know you probably turn away more work than you take on.
