That made me laugh. Any scene of somebody going through some gears hard is cool.
Unfortunately by 2040 the cheapest electric car will probably turn a faster 1/4 than a fast gasser.
But it wont' sound like a M22 Rockcrusher with straight cut gears. Kid that went to HS with my girlfriend had this exact car. 67 SS Convertible with the M22. Crazy cool.

Love the whine of those gears!!
There was a good scene from "Two Lane Blacktop" where James Taylor is going through the gears on the 55 Chevy with the M22. Beautiful song.

Best movie soundtrack ever.

For car movies. That might need its own Rumblepost to debate it.

I have some opinions on that subject also.
A topic on best car soundtrack in the movies would be interesting. I have a few ideas on that one.

@alsancle Bottom of the line Tesla will out 1/4 mile most modern musclecars.

Salad is healthier than BBQ but nobody says "Hey, that place looks like it serves a really good salad!". 😝

Shawn, I might be one of the few guys that lusts after a steam car, 426 HEMI and a used Tesla Model S. You could say I have a wide variety of interests.
One deficiency for sure is the lack of any sound, which is why there is a federal mandate to make noise when backing up.

I won't argue the incredible performance of modern electric vehicles.
They just don't stir my soul the way the bark from an uncorked internal combustion engine will.

I’m not sure which is worse, the total lack of sound or the addition of computer generated “engine sounds” and fake gear shifts like some of them are doing. That’s just tacky.

100% agree on that Travis. My sister in-law has a hybrid (worst idea ever) and when it backs up it makes a sound like a dump truck. First time I heard it I was in shock. No way to change it to something else. At least the Tesla makes a subtle whirling sound which could almost be mistaken for the electric motors.

Harley Davidson purposefully engineered the gearbox on the Livewire electric motorcycle to make a whining noise.
Nice to see they stayed on brand. If it's not fast, it might as well be annoying.

We work on a lot of the hybrid Toyotas and they make this bizarre humming sound when going forward or back when in electric mode at low speeds. The first thing I would do if I had to drive one every day would be pulling off the front bumper and taping some foam over the exterior speaker to muffle it.
