I'm going to give it a try. I'm not a sheetmetal guy but I do some fabrication of brackets and things like that. If nothing else, it's a good shear and punch.
I'd rather use this than an abrasive cutoff tool. I hate the mess from those things.

If you've got the floor space, the longer you have it the more uses you are likely to find for it. General metal fab capabilities seem like they would fit well with the type of work you do. A long time ago I bought a duplicating mill to copy complex wood parts, which led to a 9" South Bend lathe to make tooling, because the only options were to make my own or pay someone to do it. A couple upgrades later I'm up to a WWII era 15" LeBlond, which is more than I need but I've found that it's easier to do small work on a big machine than to do big work on a small one. And it was too good a deal to pass up! On a whim I bought a Gorton vertical mill, another deal too good to pass up, that has turned into one of the most usefull and most used tools in the shop.
