Sorting out some electrical issues on a '76 MGB today.
Does anyone know what the extension cord connects to?
It's not on any wiring diagram I have. 🤪

From the looks of things, the previous electrician was using that cord to run their beer fridge.

Perhaps an investment in a new harness might be the way to go?

I'm only trying to make the car safe to drive so the owner can decide if he hates it or not.
Installing a new harness might exceed the value of the car at this point.

Normally those just plug into an ordinary 110V wall socket....have you tried that?

It's less bad now.
Surplus wires removed, Proper circuits are connected together and everything is working.
Previous owner managed to short the resistor wire in the harness and burn it up so I've used a Chrysler variable ballast resistor instead. It has low resistance when cold and as it heats up, the resistance increases. This way the coil sees a full 12V when cold starting and it drops to 6v-8v when running to keep the coil from overheating.
I'm done with the underhood wiring.
