1929 Chandler Royal Eight Car and Parts

This was just added to the marketplace. A 1929 Royal Eight 758-S car and parts. Perhaps enough to build a car if you are ambitious? As we discussed in a different thread. These Royal Eight cars are almost non-existent. Chris is it known?

Great idea Steve.

Four engines! What is that, 25% of the surviving engine blocks for these cars?

· Jun 5

You might be light on that estimate. Great project that will sadly probably not get done.

These are all parts being sold by @Steadiman one of the local (SoCal) Chandler guys. Jerry has some neat unrestored Chandler projects, including a 1929 Chandler Model 75 Coupe.

Chris, do you think you could get some more pictures from Jerry and I will update the ad and the topic?

Just trying to visualize what is here and what it might yield. I stumbled on this. A Big handsome ride.

The disassembled engine on this car shows an interesting design point. They used an unusual manifold setup where the four intake ports are actually above the exhaust ports, despite the use of an updraft carburetor. Perhaps when they designed the block they were planning ahead for the use of downdraft carbs.

Another thought I had about that manifold setup is that these cars must absolutely hate modern ethanol fuel. It would boil the fuel out of the float bowl in a hurry. A primer pump would be an absolute necessity.

What pictures would you like to see? Here is a factory pic of the 1929 Coupe, I am currently building. I also have a 4 door sedan and two parts cars. So a his and hers! Thanks Jerry , Email me: jerry@steadimoves.com

@Steadiman start a topic in the Chandler forum on the 3 window. I love 3 windows and would love to see how you are doing on it.

I tried to post this pic to the 1929 Chandler year but it would not let me? How do I start a topic on 3-window cars? Thanks Jerry

Jerry, try posting in this topic. I created one just for your car:
