I just learned that there was a coach builder in Mexico from 1950-1955, DM Nacional. Interesting looking roadster here. Anyone know any details on these? What was the chassis and drivetrain?

That is pretty cool. According to coachbuild.com that is built on a 1949 Ford chassis.

That wouldn’t be too bad at all with a flathead in it. I like the styling. I see a lot of different European influences in it. Would be an interesting choice next to a Nash Healey or a Kaiser Darrin.

Here is a complete article on them.
This article appears in the January, 1952 issue of Auto Sport Review and features 4 of their cars. In total, DM Nacional built 6 cars over 5 years near Mexico City, Mexico.

I wonder if any survive. All I find are period photos or obviously colorized or AI altered photos.

Good question. They remind of 1950s specials of which there were many but not a high survival rate.

Reminds me of the Glasspar Roadster kit of the early 50s.

It sure looks like there are no doors on that car. That must have been fun to get in and out of.

I don't see any lines. Getting in is easier than getting out.
