Watching this in the shop right now.

On one hand I believe a good mechanic can eventually figure anything out. On the other hand some marques in particular have hidden secret details that may vex even the best mechanic if they don't have experience with that particular car.
I will never forget a Pierce V12 engine that was done but what I consider one of the best shops in the country and run by a guy I have tremendous respect for. But the lifters can go in two ways and only one of them allows for adequate oil flow. They got it backwards.

The throttle linkage on a fuel injected V12 Jaguar can go on two ways.
One way will jam the throttle at WOT.
Ask me how I learned that...

Exactly. It does pay to have experience with a particular marque. At least the esoteric ones.

I have never worked in a restoration shop, but I've had exposure to several guys running them through the years. Mike in this video appears to be a "likeable" guy. My experience has been that likelable guys running a shop are in the minority. Good to see a McPherson grad turning wrenches.

I agree with that John! Every McPherson grad I know is an auction specialist or collection manager.
