Maybe a bit early for a "best swap meet find of the year" thread but I was pretty excited and surprised to stumble on this dealer Poster of a 1940 Packard Convertible Coupe at a hot rod parts meet a couple of weeks ago. Seller was surprised someone with a 40 Packard convertible was at the show! We like a little bit of everything..

Nice! I like the blue/red color combination. Never paid attention until I needed a color to match my red interior. @TomLaferriere is not fan of the combo but I think it works.
Those 40-42 Packards are great cars up and down the line. Easy to work on, you can get parts and stylish. Great find!
I was trying to think of all time swap meet finds. My dad had a lot of them. But one related to this topic that happened when I was with him was this factory Packard Tachometer. If you are a Packard guy you know these things a pretty rare. My dad had one in his 180 Darrin so he knew what it looked like. We were at the Kruse Auction in Auburn Indiana back in 2000 Labor Day. They would have a swap meet out back as part of the auction. First table we came to this was sitting there. The guy wanted 5 bucks. My dad was giddy.
The one we bought is still sitting in his trophy cabinet. This is the one in the car.

@JohnBloom thanks for nice words - we saw this 40 blue on blue 110 up at Rhinebeck last month. Available at $36k with Paul Tacy in upstate NY. Pretty color. Buyer would love our find but unless he has a yellow one to trade he will be S.O.L.
Steve as @TomLaferriere will tell you, getting the tach is hard, getting the tach drive is even harder.

Yeah tach would be a little out of place on a 110....
