Crazy build. A car with a 27 litre V12 engine from a Spitfire. Just wow.

I didn’t have any sound on the video so I’m not sure, but does this particular Merlin engine have the supercharger as well?

I couldn't hear audio either. Here is a video where you can hear it. Definite whining sound. Looks like a death trap.

They actually confirmed my suspicions in that video. It was the naturally aspirated tank engine version. The supercharged Spitfire version was something like 1700 hp, I thought.

This car was originally built in the 1960s and was yellow.

Someone needs to build another car with the Daimler-Benz V12 out of a BF 109 so they can drag race the two.

Great idea, except are there only around 2 or 3 of those in the world?

Looks like 67 airframes survive but how many of those were repowered I don’t know.

That is a great idea but I wonder how many people would get the joke?

Only fellow history nerds, I guess. But it would be far less destructive than the last time they went head to head.

This is a great idea!!!
