1911 Model T Transmission. Final machining done on bushings. Drums, gears and flywheel static balanced and assembly started.

Nice work. I’m always intimidated by machine work. I have an old lathe but I only know just enough to be dangerous with it.

South Bend Lathe Works wrote the book "How to run a lathe"
It's still in print and all the stuff still applies.

I've spent a lot of time watching other guys do stuff and they make it look easy. Then when I try I realize not so easy.

When I had my appendix removed, the doctor actually asked me "So, how do you want to do this?".
I answered "Geez doc, I kinda feel like that's YOUR job".
He explained there were two ways to do the surgery and the scar would be larger or smaller, depending on the way he did it. I suggested that he should do it the way he was most comfortable with.
I'm sure he had an easy time of it and I'm sure I wouldn't have.
