lol, the best jokes all have some element of truth……. Having said that, I’ve had a couple and loved them both (320i, 2.7 liter Z3).
Why do BMW drivers always look so surprised when their car breaks down? Because they thought the "M" stood for "maintenance-free."

The Z3 was an underrated car. One of the most fun BMWs that I ever drove was a Z3M, which had the E36 engine. I’m also one of the few that like the clown shoe Z3 M coupes.
That first year, 1996 just had the four banger. But in 1997 you could get the 2.7 straight six. It really felt like it had a lot of muscle in it and it gripped the road well. I loved mine and we were living in Southern California and I had four little kids. I just didn’t drive it enough. I’ve never driven the M roadster.

Back in the 90s a guy I worked with got divorced, around 40 at the time and bought a Z3. Wasn't a fan and it felt like he was trying too hard. Looked like a pumped up Miata.
The older M cars are great. I’ve always wanted an E24 M6. I had a 635CSi which I loved but it would have been even better with the M engine.
There are two BMWs you could give me. The 507 and a late 90s 7 series L.
I’ll never forget back in the early 2000’s when we had one of the first 7 series come through the shop with one of the electronic shifters that was the little stalk on the steering column. It took us a few minutes to figure out how to even move the car. It was like a bunch of cave men looking at fire.
The 507 is off the chart sexy. For something with a lot of its visual cues for one cent on the dollar, compare it to a series l triumph, Spitfire. You can clearly see the influence the BMW had on it.
I like those long wheelbase square 7 cars. Maybe the only BMW I thought was neat.
I don’t know, you guys can keep the stodgy 7-series. I prefer a BMW in its natural habitat.
I’m not sure where this road is but it sure reminds me of the Tail of the Dragon, which should be a bucket list road for any fans of the twisties.
