I don’t necessarily understand the supercar market. But this feels like a really dumb idea.

@alsancle I’ve seen dumber. But an electric Phantom II is hard to top.

@Hupp31 Travis, I think this came up on the AACA forum. It is the same as a resto-mod to me. Go destroy a worthless car and not something cool. I'm actually pro electric car, as well as pro steam car and pro 426 HEMI. I like all cars if they are cool. The Ferrari is not.

@alsancle I think it might be worse than a resto-mod. A resto mod would be putting a modern electric motor and lithium battery in a Detroit Electric. Putting an electric in the Rolls just took the soul right out of it. It’s just not right. And I have nothing against most electric cars but there needs to be some rules about these conversions.

@Hupp31 Have a friend who is converting an XKE to electric. I didn't feel like me telling him I hated the idea was going to go over well.

@alsancle Please tell me it’s not a Series I.
If I want an old electric car, I’ll just buy an old electric car. I keep thinking that with my three mile drive to work on mostly back roads, an old electric coach could be a fun daily driver. I would think with some modern AGM deep cycle batteries and an onboard charger from a bass boat, that could be a nifty rig.

Nothing makes any sense anymore. Lamborghini builds a Pontiac Aztec, Porsches have too many doors, Mustangs are electric and now this.

@ShawnG Funny you should mention the Mustang. My wife mentioned it to me when we were passing one yesterday on the highway. I couldn't understand why they would use the Mustang name on something that has nothing to do with a Mustang. She said "brand awareness". I said nobody that wants a Mustang is gonna buy that thing becauses Ford co-opted the name.

@alsancle
Should have called it the Falcon. Still in the family but more suited to a grocery getter.

@ShawnG 😂

@TeslaFan01 I can't argue with the incredible performance of modern electric cars but there's just something missing for me.
I test rode a Zero motorcycle a number of years ago and it was spooky. No noise and no mechanical feel meant that I was doing impound speed before I knew it. Very hard to behave on that machine.

@ShawnG A better comparision with the Ferrari would have been a Model S Plaid which is 1100 HP and can go 200 mph. All for 140k.

@ShawnG The electric motorcycles are crazy. But I never even accepted the 2-stroke to 4-stroke transition for the same reason you just mentioned. Just something missing. I never could behave on any of them, which is why I haven’t owned one for years.

@ShawnG I asked and look what I got. Somebody else did for me. The only thing I disagree with is they are using the used price of a Plaid S since they stopped making them last month. New they were 130k

That is a super cool car! Leaf hahah!

I'm not a brand guy, but shouldn't they have just made it look like a Ferrari? Why did they need to make it look like an EV? Guys that want to EV virtue signal are not buying a Ferrari.
