We talked about how some trades are dying out in another post and it reminded me of some videos I found ages ago.
This isn't auto related but I figured some of you might appreciate it. I enjoy watching how things were done before everything became mass produced, watered down and soulless.
My wife is a glass artist but a totally different style than this fellow.
Conincidence! I was in the Corning Glass Museum last week. I took zero pictures. But I did enjoy the history part of the museum. In that section they had a class blower that did about a 15 minute presentation and created this glass Elephant out of nowhere. Highly skilled dude.

I like how he explained printing. "They paint with dots. Yellow dots and blue dots make green. We paint green"
@ShawnG It’s amazing how they can blend and fade colors on such a large piece and have it look cohesive when viewed from a distance. I’ve dabbled with it a bit in airbrushing and it’s difficult enough to do on a small piece when you can see the entire work as you go.
The pendulum is swinging back and people are realizing that work with your hands, plumbing, electrical, contracting, etc is a smarter choice than 200k in college loans.
@dj1970 This is so true. Try to find a pumber or electrician these days that is not your son in law.
My wife and I have had that conversation many times. I’m a college dropout, have no student loans, and have only had two jobs in my whole life. She has two degrees, still paying off loans, and has had at least ten jobs, almost all of which weren’t even related to her degrees.
