More Model T parts arrived today so I'm back on the job.
New triple gear bushings installed. I used a bit of Loctite sleeve retainer just for some insurance.

Shawn, did you fab the bushings or is there a supplier? Are some of those gears original and some new?

@alsancle
These are bushings from a Model T supplier. I could make them if needed but it's more economical to buy them ready made.
Not sure if the gears are original. I'm re-using the gears because they're in good shape and already worn into each other.
The drilling in the gears is for balancing, they're all within a couple grams of each other.

@ShawnG So first, second and reverse are all on that shaft?

@alsancle well... everything is on one shaft. It's a planetary transmission. It operates more like an automatic or a Lenco transmission.

@ShawnG You can see I'm out of my league on this. Ask me about some obscure coachbuilder. My REO has herringbone gears. REO offered an optional 4 speed for 50 bucks and my car is the only one know to exist with that transmission. When we disassembled the tranny we found that second had some chipped teeth so I had a new one made. 2500 10 years ago and it took two tries to get it right. I'm terrified of what's going to happen the first time I got in to second gear.

@alsancle
I've worked on a REO Royale but only enough to get it sorted out and make it run. I never got into the internals. I'm excited to see yours completed and outside in the sunshine.
That would be an interesting transmission to see. I've read about herringbone gears but never worked on anything that has them. I believe Citroen used them in their transmissions as well.

@alsancle
I just looked at the gears, they all have the Ford script stamped in them so they're very likely original gears.
