30 years ago Norwich NY had 9 fortune 500 corp headquarters located within a relatively small city. Within a short 3 year period most of them moved out of state which was devastating . The creation of the Northeast Classic Car Museum was an effort by the city and the Staley family to create a tourist destination. This is a fantastic museum and well worth a visit by any car lover. There are 180 or so cars spread through a beautiful facility right in the heart of the town. We spent a couple of hours there yesterday including lunch and a talk by the Robert Jeffery the executive director who explained the history.

All of us smart prewar guys know the 745 Packard is the one to have because of the extra long hood. This was one of my favorite cars in the museum. I would just toss the whitewalls.

If you want a condensing Stanley Steamer this is the one to have. The 750 was the ultimate evolution of the condensing cars. The SVC that followed it had some issues. I like closed cars and this was very nice although the colors were on the blinding side.

There are a tremendou number of Franklin's in the museum. I did not take a picture of the placard but I believe this was a 32. Besides the two V12 cars this was my favorite.

Here are the two 12 Cylinder cars. @mattgoist is busy traveling the world but next time he checks in maybe he can comment. These are huge cars that you can't judge until you are standing next to them.

All Duesenbergs are cool, but I especiallly liked this Holbrook bodied towncar because most of the Holbrook bodies were cut up for fancier styles.

On my list of cars I want but will never own is the 33 CL Chrysler. 33 has the full length hood and this is the special arm chair version of the convertible sedan. My only gripe is the tires are 17-750 and they need to be 17-700.

1936 Packard V12. You can distinguish the 35 from the 36 by the slanted grill.

Did you go in the musclecar room? They have some really nice cars including a Fitch Corvair which is not something you see on a street corner.
