What's everyone's favourite car movie?

I'd have to cast my vote for Rush. I think they did a fantastic job with that film, even if there was a lot of artistic license applied.

Even my wife likes it but that's because of Chris Hemsworth with his shirt off.

I’m partial to Bullet. I used to live in the Bay Area and own a 1968 Mustang.

Le Mans by Steve McQueen is another favorite.

For a modern movie Ford vs Ferrari

@alsancle They never say in the movie what they are burning but it must be Nitrous? When was that introduced?

· May 17

@Ralph71 I always assumed that. Was cool when they flipped the switch.

Ronin, always loved the 6.9 and it inspired me to buy a couple M5s when they were rare on the road.

· May 17

@prewarnut I had to look that one up!

· May 17

@Ralph71 Is that the same guy from "Leon, the professional"? Looks like him.

@alsancle
I think that is....

Come on guys! This had a huge influence on me as a 15 year old.

@Royale835Sedan Fantastic movie!

@Royale835Sedan oh I don't know... I guess maybe influential.

Yeah I pulled this out of a barn when I was 14 - emblem hole was already filled with old primer, supposedly from a hot rod back in the 50s. In retrospect I wish I left it as found but it gave me something to do for a few hours..

@alsancle discovered you (at least I have to) go into my droid gallery to post a pic here - you csnnot just post up from the camera. Minor but good to know..

· May 19

@SteveMackCT Soon Steve. Soon. There needs to be a droid App to do that.

The Gumball Rally...

@alsancle The 2 cars in my picture.
Ferrari Driver: "My car is faster than yours!"
427 Cobra Driver: "My car is meaner than yours!"

· May 18

@Peerless28 Jeff, the funny thing in that move to me was that they were acting like the Cobra was an antique car while it was 6 years older than the Daytona.

Two Lane Blacktop

@OneSteve Good movie! Even with James Taylor not knowing how to act.

@OneSteve
Great soundtrack.
Terrible acting.

I find that some of these 70s car movies must have required some chemical assistance for proper enjoyment.
Thunderbolt & Lightfoot and Vanishing Point come to mind.

The trouble with fictional car movies is that they are usually good right up until they totally jump the shark and pull some ridiculous nonsense. For example, the bridge jump scene in Gone in 60 Seconds.

My favorite car movie is actually a documentary, Dust To Glory, about the Baja 1000. Very well done and genuinely entertaining.

@Hupp31 Nice.

Agree with you in general but I keep hoping to find that one car that restores itself like Christine, so far nothing.

· May 19

@SteveMackCT
I love Christine.
The bit where she goes after Moochie is my favourite.

· May 19

@ShawnG Honestly, I’ve never seen the whole movie. But seeing as how that’s my wife’s name, I don’t think I could because I may never be able to sleep again.😂

I'm gonna watch this over the weekend. And not because Chris Helmsworth is shirtless. 🤣
